Basil II Essay
First read the assigned document and then compose a coherent two page (double-spaced) analytical essay on the topic by answering the question on page 319. Question: What were the personal qualities that made Basil II successful, and how would you characterize the nature of the Byzantine government? Compare the achievements of Basil II with those of Charlemagne as described on page 290. How were the two rulers alike? How were they different ? How would you explain the differences? Textbook that I'm using: William J. Duiker and Jackson Spielvogel, The Essential World History, Volume I: To 1800 (Sixth Edition).
