Final Paper You are free to choose any issue pertinent to international relations. This is an opportunity for you to apply the major perspectives in international relations to a topic of your interest. You do need to select a specific topic and be able to include key elements for a high-quality research paper. Your paper should identify the topic as a problem or controversy, present competing Department of Political Science 3 perspectives surrounding the issue, and offer your own analysis and conclusion on the issue. You are required to submit a topic and outline of your paper first, and then the complete paper later. You need at least five references from official sources, academic journals, or major newspapers. You can use Internet websites, but www.answers.com, www.wikipedia.com, and personal blogs, among others, are not acceptable.  Submission of paper outline: 1–2 pages, identify the issue, and outline the structure of your paper. Due on the April 11th class.  Submission of complete paper: 8–9 pages (including a summary page and works-cited page). Due on the May 13th class o Summary page should include the title (or question), competing views (or alternatives), and conclusion (your own assessment).  All assignments or homework should be typed, stapled and handed in before the class begins on the due date. All pages must be numbered.  Late submission will not be accepted for any homework, assignments or papers.
