What Happened With Africa? Perhaps you have not noticed, but there are very few chapters in the text that cover the long and complex history of Africa. There are, on the other hand, about thirteen chapters that cover western (European) civilization. Why is that? Why do American students barely touch on the history of Africa? Is the history of Africa somehow less worthy? For this discussion, you will need to read Professor Larson's "Ten Myths of African History" and then review some of the linked web sites. You then will comment on the following question: How have the myths of African history affected our study of that continent and why has that happened?
